The company was established as a business partnership between Borusan Holding and GIWA Holding operating in Germany, Borusan Otomotiv Group took over the distributorship of BMW cars in Türkiye with a team of 47 people in 1984. The company expanded its brand range further with the addition of motorcycle enthusiasts favorite brand BMW Motorrad in 1992 and then the manufacturer of the top 4x4 vehicles, Land Rover in 1998. This was followed in 2001 with the addition of MINI which created a difference in the small car segment and finally completed in 2014 with Jaguar brand, representing a combination of luxury, comfort and performance.

Borusan Otomotiv İthalat has been the distributor of BMW, MINI and BMW Motorrad brands in Türkiye for 40 years and Borusan Otomotiv Pazarlama operates as the distributor of Jaguar and Land Rover brands.

Borusan Otomotiv Group provides sales and after-sales services through 25 Authorized Dealers and 46 Authorized Services. Borusan Oto, engages in the sales and aftersales services of all brands represented by Borusan Otomotiv and operates as a Borusan Otomotiv Authorized Dealer and Authorized Service at 11 facilities; Borusan Oto Kıbrıs, operating as the Authorized Dealer and Authorized Service for Jaguar and Land Rover, serves at the Northern Cyprus facility, focusing on providing customers with the best experience possible.

Borusan Otomotiv Premium has been operating as an affiliate of Borusan Otomotiv Group, offering long-term lease services, financing, insurance solutions and used car operations for BMW, MINI, Jaguar and Land Rover, which are distributed by Borusan Otomotiv, through all of its authorized dealerships.

Furthermore, Borusan Otomotiv established Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport (BOM) in 2008 to contribute to the development of motor sports in Türkiye and the promotion of Türkiye abroad. Since then, the team has participated in nearly 420 races and won 19 championships on 37 different circuits in 20 countries on 4 continents. Additionally, BOM Akademi was founded in 2015 within the structure of Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport which is a training institution licensed by the Turkish Federation of Automobile Sports and the General Directorate of Youth and Sport. BOM also extended its activities by establishing BOM E-Team in 2018 to participate in the emerging e-sports industry and represent Türkiye. BOM Karting was established in 2020 to bring young athletes to motor sports and contribute to the development of the infrastructure of this sport.

In addition, Borusan Araç İhale  operating since 2001 as being the credible used car auction brand and making a difference with the auction processes in the sector with a wide dealer network all over Türkiye, has been incorporated into the Borusan Otomotiv Group in 2023 under the name Borusan Oto Değerlendirme. With the Borusan Next brand, it provides services to individuals or corporate companies, from cash purchase to exchange, sales to service, financing to insurance solutions through business partners, for second-hand cars of all brands, models and ages that meet the determined criteria.
